I am assuming this is something someone stuck in to replace the original coin, but just wondering if it has any particular significance?  It is in the riser of a '59 Kodiak.

In the end, it is not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. Abraham Lincoln.

Joe, Is that a date right under the horizontal base of the "wheat?" Looks like an "A" at the top. With that shape of the intersecting lines....any chance it is "Masonic Lodge" type of thing? Just a wild guess though.

I have seen all sorts of odds and ends put in place of the Bear coins. The previous owner might have had some sort of connection to this and thats why. Often times you see something with the date on it like a coin etc.

I have also seen all sorts of holes people have drilled in risers. For the life of me I can't understand either.

Hey Lon
He is close to the Canadian border, so a "Peso" might be called a "Paco"

Dang North Westerners can hardly understand them

Blackhawk

Jim,

 :bigsmyl:

I believe he stopped there for a diet pepsi and some pork rinds several years ago.  :D

BTW, that bow is a poster child for the thread going on restorations.

It looks to be a German coin called Deutsches Reich and Reichsphenig.  Not a lot of value maybe a dollar American

You're amazing Jon - that's exactly right.  There is no limit to the knowledge of Trad Ganger's!
Thanks, my friend will enjoy knowing that.

Here is some more detail. It looks like a Weimar Republic era pfennig coin. You can see two of them on this page:

Unfortunately, the backs seem to be the same regardless of the denomination. The URL above shows a 10 pf and a 5 pf coin.
