Traditional Bowyers and Their Contributions to Traditional Bow Design?

Okay, I'm back, and here is my second question, which has two parts. First, what bowyers have made significant (revolutionary or evolutionary) contributions to the design of traditional bows? Second, what were/are those contributions? I guess that what I am asking for is really three pieces of information:
1. Significant Contribution to Traditional Bow Design
2. By whom?
3. When (if you know)?

Here are a couple of design features to stimulate your thinking: fiberglass laminations on bow limbs, cut-out sight window, working recurve limb.

Wow, Wade! That is great history! Thank you for those. I had hoped that you would jump in on this topic.

(Did you typo a couple of those dates? I'm sure that I have seen a photo of a hinged take-down that was older than 1979.)

As an addition to my earlier reply it is debated if Frank Eicholtz or Russ Willcox pioneered the use fiberglass in bows. Jim
