New to the site, just put up my compound bow for good and am getting reacquainted with my old Super K that I bought new as teenager in the early 70's. I thought I bought this bow before June of 1971 which was before my high school graduation. It game as a set, bow, spring quiver, dozen Kodiak .410 Supreme arrows, broadheads, fishing reel spool, armquard and glove. However after reading this forum for hours it appears my bow is a 1972. What do you think and I hope the pictures turn out. That is a beauty, congrats on breaking it out and letting it live again! I've got one that is alittle older, 67 I think, its marked 7Z 1936 60" 45# but not AMO. The string length should be the same right? 56" inches is that right? I need to get a string and don't want to get the wrong one. Any recomendations on strings from you guys in the know?

Lurefish- Your Super K appears to be a 1971 model. The 1970 would most likely not have the factory stabilizer bushing in the front of the riser, and the 1972 model would most likely have the raised button instead of the flat coin in the riser. The Canada patent date would also be missing from the lower limb.Looks like a dandy.

Congrats for your nice '72 it is one of the best more forgiving bow on the market, pretty fast too.Your is in a good hunting weight for whitetail too.The differences between the 70-71-72 are pretty non esistent; The 70 has no serial bushing insert, that it was factory on the 71 and 72,but the 72 had the model decal on the belly like yours.1972

Good Eye Felix! I don't want to wander off topic but I once bought an original '69 phenolic Super K with the screens on the belly. Real odd duck- sent it to Bowdoc cause it was pretty rough and we decided to put the new logos where they belonged. I do think he got photos though.  GY

I'm with Felix on this one it's a '72. The exact draw weight should be written behind the strike plate. It's a beauty enjoy it.
