'Whip' runs the bow hospital and posts on here I'm sure he could give you a professional opinion.

Chris,

You've posed this same question on at least 2 other online forums.  In each case you've been advised not to attempt to repair the bow and to make a wallhanger out of it due to the location of the damage (fadeout).

If you search long enough you may find someone that will tell you to repair it or even offer to do the work for you.  If that's the course of action you take, just remember, it's you that will be at full draw when and if it blows.  That won't be fun.

Of course any bow can fail at just about any time for a whole host of reasons.  It's the risk we all are willing to take to watch those fletchings spin down range.

Your call no doubt, but be careful, Trap

the bow was given to me and was like that when i got it. ive decided not to try to fix it. Thanks for all of the input guys. anyone got any good ideas on what to make out of a junk bow??? Chris

I have seen coffee tables made from risers, and the neatest thing I saw was a bow rack made from a junker.

Kurt Bellefeuile makes really nice bow racks out of broken bows.

I could really use the coin/medallion off of that bow if you're interested in selling or swapping.

It aint gonna blow up from that little sliver or even pull crooked. seap super glue in then press it together let it dry then while drawing see if it moves. even if it does move it still is not going to blow up just from this damaged spot. If it does not move you can sand it smooth and refinish. If it does move it will screw up a new finish job when drawn. Since it is on the back you may have success but if on the belly it would probably move. Jim

I have a delaminated '65 Kodiak and I'm just going to put in on a wall on display in my man cave.

Why risk it? You know it is going to give way at some point.

I'd rather buy another one for $150 rather getting injured.
