Hi, my draw length is 24" and i achieve 52lbs of draw weight, currently i am shooting 2018, cut at 26" shooting 125 grains BH, (I think I am over spine)

Well ,if I need min 500 grains to shoot hogs, reading OL web site I should be shooting 1816 correct? by doing this, the spine is correct, but I cant achieve the 500 grains arrows, what are my options?

1)stick with 2018 shafts but make them longer, cut at 30"(this will increase arrow weight) ?
2)put weight tubing into the 1816 shafts?
3) If I am going to shoot woodies, should I go for heavy arrows? if i do that then the spineing will be out? no?

Any help and advise much appreciated.  :help:

All the above mentioned will acheive what you desire. Also, you may want to look into carbons w/ weight tubes from 3 rivers.
Weight of woods depends on type of wood not spine.
The lam.birch I have are 26 1/4'' w/ a 125gr point weigh 625grs.

Hi

if you shooting cedar shafts as oppose to ash shaft, i would assume that the ash is denser/harder than the cedar shaft, thus i may use 7.5mm for the cedar and its same equivalent spine in Ash would be 7mm (since ash is denser and harder than the cedar, same spine)

If i am drawing 53lbs at 24lbs, as oppose to another archer drawing 53lbs at 28, can we both use the same arrow since both are drawing 53lbs?  :wavey:

Length of arrow affects spine along w/ point weight.
A person w/ a 55lb bow and draw @ 28'' w/ the same point weight will need a stiffer spined arrow than one w/ the same specs @ 24''
