Loctite 420 source

I ordered two 1 oz bottles of LT 420 from McMaster-Carr from their on line site and it arrived on my doorstep in less than 48 hours. About $20 per bottle and $5 shipping. Great service!!!!

Locktite 420 is a good product but not the holy-grail of glue. I and some of my friends have been using a product you can get at any hobby shop called "Zap" I find it just as good and about $4.00 per ounce.

Have you made any direct comparison. I am interested in trying it. Also, have you used goat tuff? How does it compare with 420 or Zap?

as for repairs on stress cracks in limbs.I personaly do not believe any glue is better then LT420.Now thats just one mans thoughts.However I have repaired over 1000 bear bows with LT 420 and would have no reason to change myself.bd

Don...not saying 420 is bad just saying the 421 seems to have the characteristics needed in repair of bows to reach deep down into cracks in risers. Just something to think about.

No I'am not saying other glues ar'nt as good or better then 420.I'd try some other glues or brands sometimes but I'am so cheap when it comes to spending the money to buy some extra glue.Well I'am cheap so I only stick with loctite because I don't want to spend the dough.Hey thats funny I otta sell that one to em.I Stick with Loctite...bd

What hobby store exactly can you find it? I looked in local Michael's and hobbylobby, but I couldn't find the brand "Zap".

Yeah my glue came today. Wasn't bad shipping time only acouple of days. From the stanley supply com. that posted earlier. Back to work on the bow tomorrow. Jim

Guy's sorry I haven't answered these threads sooner I'm in Texas hunting.
No I'm not using it to fletch arrows, and I buy it at the local hobby shop in Missoula, haven't seen it at Michael's. I've used Loctite 420 for years and Paul Brunner turned me on to the Zap he uses it all the time on his self-bows and even laminated bows. I used it on a wood/glass bow that delaminated a good 3" clear across the limb, two different bowyers said it could not be fixed. I Zaped it and its still holding, what ever.

I think Ted Fry at Raptor carries Zap for about 6.00 I would check with him if you can not find it at your local hobby shops..how's the hunting going Bob ??? bd
