maybe somebody out there can help me. I have two bows. One is an old Stemmler. I can find a web site on them but no idea of its worth. I remember it as being in our attic when I was a kid and I am 57. It is a longbow but the handle is flaking off and I am not sure if it would be safe to shoot or not. The other is a bow my father won at a game dinner in the mid 60s. It is marked Blackhawk short hornet. I used this bow when I was still archery hunting and am thinking of going back to. It is in excellant shape and is a recurve bow. Thanks to anyone who answers this

Tough ? about the Stemmler, Best to check the unmentionable auction site, under completed auctions.Sounds like the Blackhawk is a shooter. but not sure what your ? about the short bow is?

I was asking who made it and if it might be worth anything.  It is marked blackhawk short hornet

Blackhawk bows were made by Cravotta Bros. in McKeesport Pa. They made quite a few short bows with most having a bee logo or model, ie:short hornet, Bee Bow, Yellow Jacket etc. The shorter recurves were pretty basic and I would say maybe 50.00 value. The longer reflex bows they made were much nicer and bring more money. They had a lot of models with bright colored glass that really caught the eye.

Horney Toad

I had a blackhawk short hornet once and sold it for $50. Sorta plain, but shot pretty good.
