What make you drag the fat part of your thumb across your face (hitting your cheek) when you are pulling the string straight back to you anchor

Lots of things jt.  Thumb up or out, too much arm in the draw, head in the wrong position, poor drawing technique, etc.  Also not sure what you mean by "the fat part of your thumb."

Don't mean to make light of your question but there are too many question marks in it.  " Dr, it hurts when I do this."  "Then don't do that."

Can you post a video of you shooting?

it just seem that when I am drawing my bow straight back I am hitting my cheek . fat part of thumb, behind 2nd joint. It drags across my face. without being able to see myself I don't know why this started

jt,

Are you familiar with Bob Wesley?  He lives just south of Chapel Hill in Pittsboro.  Give him a call, he can help you.

I drag my hand across my face on purpose, I used to hold my hand away from my face and then move it into my face for "anchor" but that caused me to stop pulling.  So I just keep pulling and use my hand on my face as a reference to my first anchor.
