Gap shooting Eye Alignment

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post here, but I've been enjoying reading this forum for the last couple of months.

My question is: Do you align your eye to look directly down the arrow shaft "through" the (out of focus)string, or do you place your eye so that the string is off to the side and compensate with tuning/aiming.

I use the string blurr against a reference on the riser as an additioanl reference point. It is to the right of my right eye while looking at the target.

I used to use to line the string up on the outside of the riser but when I really began to look at my alignment I needed to move my anchor further back. Now I am aligned but with my anchor (thumb knuckle under my ear) the string is more to the side and cannot be lined up on the riser. At least for me, it didn't really matter, I have a solid 2 point anchor and good alignment.

I guess to answer you second question, I don't really compensate for my non-ability to use string blur, it really wasn't a factor with the way I shoot.

Reference the string blur off to the side for me.  If I try to align my shot down the arrow shaft, I shoot to the right of center.
I wouldn't "compensate" by aiming off target if that is what your second question is!?  For instance, I focus more on the POI...& blur the arrow tip to gap.  I have a slight cant to get into alignment/compensate.

That being said,  everyone does it different...
