I noticed many of the top shooters with longbow (and wooden recurves) the bow seems to twist to the left at the end of the shot. Never seems to happen with me - is the bow supposed to behave in that way?
Thanks

Mine seems to, but I don't know why! I am a newbie, I just figured it was something that I was doing while gripping the bow after the release!

Targets3D,  If you have a relaxed bow hand, LET the bow do what IT wants -- don't try to control it.  This can be scary the first few times, I'd recommend a bow sling or finger sling to secure the bow from dropping.  Once you learn the relaxed grip you may or may not want to lose the sling.  Note too that a relaxed grip allows your fingers to lightly rest on the back of the grip.  A relaxed grip IS NOT having your fingers sticking straight out.

Are you willing to give up what you are; to become what you could be?

NO....it does NOT have to be that way.  Actually, if you think about it....if it should move in ANY direction...that should be to the right for a right handed shooter...to clear shelf and riser from contact....NOT to the left to interfere with it.

Here's my bow Movement....acts kinda like a 'drop away rest'....Didn't even realize I did this till this was filmed back in 2004.

I have found that holding the bow just tight enough to keep out that type of movement makes a better shot." You have to hold the bow on target while you aim, while you release, and after the release" ( Byron Ferguson) I have been shooting this way for a lot of years and that is what works for me.
