why do all IBO shooters shoot 3 fingers under

I was watching a video of the IBO world championships and I noticed all the guys were shooting three under I was wandering why, if it was regulation, or theres some advantage shooting that way.

I switched a couple of yrs ago and think out to 40yds its easier to use the gap method...PR

She's not IBO but don't tell that to Hope Gillette who won the Eagle Eye competition at ETAR last weekend shooting split finger.  3 perfect shots and great form.  She won $1,000 and a Rinehardt deer target I believe.
