my hand has started to slowly creap from the string and this is making me jerk at the shot what can i do

Don Stokes

kasey, you might try drawing the bow to anchor without releasing until you get over the urge to let it go too quickly. You might also try drawing without your glove or tab so that you feel the string better. In general, changing your shooting style in some fashion helps you to focus.

What are you doing with your hand and arm when the slip happens?  Where are you in the shot process?

Make sure you are using a deep hook on your bow hand.  Put the string in the first knuckle joint on each finger, bend your fingertips back and pull.  It acts as a hook.  Keep it hooked until release.

Deep hook with relaxed back of hand.  Get to your anchor and settle into it solid as you build back tension.  Then just pull into that back tension and let your whole forearm just relax.  The string will be gone.  Make sure you are not over bowed.  If it is too heavy and your back or fingers are not up to it you will have a hard time.
