Is there an easy way to add a little bit of weight to glue-ons?  A guy told me you could put a little lead on the tip of your taper prior to setting your point.  I just want to tinker with a few more grains...5-10gr probably....

Thanks for the replies!

You can count out or weigh lead shot, place inside the point...then heat with a propane torch, until melted, then trim the shaft taper to get clearance between the added lead and end of shaft.

Once upon a time I took 8 or 10 field points, drilled holes in a board to stick them in, then melt lead, pour into the field tip "molds". Then you can trim the little cones to what ever length/weight with a short taper.

Now days I drill a 1/8" hole about 1.5" into the shaft before tapering. Using 1/8" brass, alumunum, steel, or even tungsten I can adjust them over a wide range of weight.....O.L.
