I am new at shooting with broadheads.  Do you practice any differently with them?  Different targets? What kind do you use?  How much do you practice with them?  Any other issues I should be aware of?

Well.. yes. Use a target made for broadheads. Shouldn't be any issues at all. As long as your arrows pass the spin test. Everyone has a preference on mounting BH's Veritcal vs. Horizontal vs. Other. I mount my 2 blades at 2:30 off vertical (just above horizontal) that way the blade does not interfere with my sight picture. Remember only shoot ONE arrow at a time... don't want to be splitting shafts with robinhoods!    :D
Someday you and I will take the Great Hart by our own skill alone, and with an arrow. And then the Little Gods of the Woods will chuckle and rub their hands and say, "Look, Brothers. An Archer! The Old Times are not altogether gone!"

I use a Rinhart 18-1 Target for my Broadhead practice....
I use the bottom flat side only for them....
I practice enough with them that they being a broadhead is not an issue anymore....

Other than working with a new bow I rarely shoot fieldpoints.  I want to practice with what I hunt with.  I use the big foam block targets and also a mckenzie deer.

You can use a nice sand bank, and hope there is no rocks lol. Alan

I have used a feed sack stuffed with plastic wrap, but you need a plywood backing to stop the BH from too much penitration. Frank
