Just got back from Wild Things. Came from 85 deg weather to 30 inches of snow last Friday!!  Lets just say I want to go back to sitting on the porch sharpening broad heads and shooting with a good bunch of people.
Don Price is the new host and was a great friend to Andrew. He upholds a great tradition of great food and good comradery. Don kept promising us toasted double decker peanut butter and jelly sandwiches but we never got to try them (maybe next year).
The first day was slow to start, Tuesday was a warm morning with 3 of us sitting stands and seeing nothing. The night was different I had one come in downwind of me huff and alarm grunt. If anyone knows pigs that was the last of that group. One of the other guys saw a group of mid sized pigs but didn't take a shot. I personally think he had the shakes so bad that he couldn't pull his bow back!!

Second day was slow until night. I was in a killer spot tons of sign wind was wrong again. My buddy steve connected just before dark. We had a spotty blood trail but pigs don't seem to like to bleed. Within 60 yards we found the pig.

Weds I had pigs come in late and swung and missed. The second to last da our other buddy connected on a great griller pig.

We had a great time in a great place.

Five of our group are there now. Three more of us are heading down Wed.

We have been to Wild Things many times (11 for some of us), and have never heard of so many sightings and shots taken. It's a banner year so far. We just hope all the dumb ones aren't shot off yet!

Don is going to be a great host. We met him two years ago when he flew in from South Africa for Andrews 60th birthday. We were in stitches all week!

I hunted wild things a couple weeks back with a great group of people! Camp was a fantastic atmosphere! Don was one of the most interesting people I have ever met, and I could have listened to him recount his amazing life experiences for hours. And if your in camp looking for something to do, fire ant hill stump shooting makes for an interesting afternoon! The boys from New York came up with that little game!

Fabulous trip. Some of us Berrien Springs Sportsman Club (MI) buddies had a great trip. Will do again.
Can't say enough about the wonderful stay at Wild Things.

Charlie and Don made us feel like we were fam. Food was fantastic. Saw 22 pigs in three days. Should have killed a sow w/4 little ones. Miss from inside a pop up blind when my upper limb hit the roof. Oh well that's huntin. Can't wait to go back

I heard from the early arrivals today. They took a quick drive around the property when they got there and saw 25 hogs!

As one of the six guys from Michigan I had a blast. The weather didn't cooperate but we all had some close encounters. Hot and windy was a bad combination, I watched a huge hog right at dark circle around me at 40 yards until he got my wind and then simply turn and walk away. Don was a great host and fantastic chef. The accommodations were first class and the property was perfect for hogs. The NY guys kept us laughing, just great people to be around.
