Matty

MATTY wants to know if he gained any weight eating Julie's special cookies!?

What is the one piece of indispensable gear (besides a bow, arrow and broad head) that always goes to the field with Barry? Name brand isn't important. Is it something like a good pair of binos, puffer bottle or maybe just a well packed lunch?

Thank you for the opportunity!

OkKeith

What's the most enjoyment he had on a hunt? Most fun, most memorable

Thanks Guys!

On the line with Barry as I type this!!! This episode will be available on Sunday!!!

Thanks for the input!! This one is gonna be good!!! We got a ton of great questions from all our social media outlets!

what is your best scoreing buck?  and your most memorable buck aside from the running shots?

Barry Wensel

I'll try to give short answers to some of these questions since I rambled on too much and didn't get to answer them in the two hour podcast.
Frassettor: I don't know about Berry but Barry never got into primitive/ selfbows. I used to own a beautiful hickory self bow made for me by a guy named Eddie Burke from CT. It was beautiful and shot very well. Eddie was a Harley dude and even carved skull and crossbones into the bow tips. Unfortunately I lost it in my fire in '99.
I still occasionally shoot my Dale Dye recurves but have pretty much retired them. I now shoot mostly Tall Tines by Brian Wessel of Keokuk, IA. A 58" takedown pulling #61 lbs. at 28". It fits me and I shoot it well. bw

J-car: " his running shot on that deer is burned into my memory forever"??? There were two running shots actually. Everyone remembers the one running right to left for some reason, but the shot running left to right was actually a better shot. Actually we had no expectations after that production. We were just out having fun and wanted to share it with others. Many, many people have come up to me and commented I "changed their life to the positive forever". That's great and I really appreciate helping so many. What I don't appreciate is the fact the guy that says he first watched the video in second grade and now he's retired, with a bald head, gray beard and has three grandkids. Where have the years gone?

Barry, great times on the show as always buddy.

I had this page pulled up during the Q&A section of our show, just couldn't get to them! We had sooo many questions submitted! Too cool!!

Episode is edited and scheduled to release this Friday @ 1:00 PM.

We usually launch them in Sunday's, but we have a long car ride Friday afternoon so I selfishly scheduled it launch a few days early  ;)

Ron LaClair

Looking forward to the next chapter with Uncle Barry on Sunday.

You could do a Mini Series on Ol' Crooked Hat and not get half of the hunting knowledge he's accumulated in his lifetime.    :archer:
We live in the present, we dream of the future, but we learn eternal truths from the past

Life is like a wet sponge, you gotta squeeze it until you get every drop it has to offer

Sapper: I don't practice that much anymore. Since my arm injury in 2001 and consequent surgery/ screws/plates, it hurts me to shoot more than just a few shots at a time. Therefore I limit my practice to roving and only shooting a single arrow periodically, limiting and sticking to my effective range at 15 yds. I try to set up for my shots at about 12 yds. My last six buck kill average ended up being 13 yds. shots and 168 antler inches average. I'm proud of that obviously.

Barry Wensel

Matty: Yes.. Julies special cookies were the culprit for sure. I'm teeing you... you need to buy her a bakery, marry her and retire. Not specifically in that order.
