Hi all,
Thinking about buying one. Would like feed back on how they are for quietness, smoothness, speed etc? They sure look nice. Finish work?

Thanks, Bob

Excellent bow, good fit and finish and a great performer. The only reason I sold mine was a drop in poundage was in order.

I'm sure I've owned every bow out there over the last 50 years my Wallace is as good as it gets in every possible way .its 68" 55# at my draw cocobolo skins with red elm cores shoots unreal best grip of any I've owned unreal workmanship.Youwont be disappointed.

Looks like i'm buying one. It's a 68" and will be about 42#@28".

You'll love it, Bob. Mine is light, smooth, fast, and quiet. Nice to look at, too. Let us know how yours shoots.

See my response over on Stickbow. You wouldn't be sorry.

I had one a few years back I loved it. But was too heavy for me. Amazingly well crafted.

Wes' bows are bred to hunt hard.  Solid built and handsome.  Very good finish and they are uniquely his.  The Royal is a sleeper.  The reverse trapped limbs make for a butter smooth draw and they are quicker than youd expect.  He is also one of the best bowyers for customer service out there.

Hi Bob.
I have been shooting a Royal for 15 years. I personally have never shot a sweeter shooting long bow! Quiet, smooth and just a pleasure to shoot. In those 15 years I've had both shoulders completely replaced so i have had to kinda develop my own style if you know what I mean. I have never cared for a heavy bow and mine is 45/28. 40lbs would work better for me at this point but I get by. Will never regret spending the money for my Royal. My search for the perfect bow ended the day it arrived 15 years ago! You will love yours if you get one! Good luck.

I have shot several over the years. They are very, very good bows. The fit and finish on all of Wes's bows have always been great to me. Wes is a stand up guy.

Congratulations on getting on Wes' list, fortunately, I'm ahead of you in line! This will be my 5th Royal, 3 of them takedowns at 66", in a few weeks I'll take delivery of a 68" t/d. The other 4 were moved on due to multiple shoulder surgeries and decreasing draw weight req'ts. I've had longbows from 4 other makers, and some of them were excellent, but when it came to getting back into archery I got back on Wes' waiting list.

To your questions:  I shoot heavy arrows, and the Royal is silent, even without the few catwhiskers he adds--as quiet as any bow I've shot, even with light arrows. Very good performer for the mild r/d design; seems to cast a heavy arrow faster than it should. Smooth as butter--my 66" bows could be drawn a lot longer than my 29.5" without stack. Nevertheless, I went 68" after shooting Wes' demo bow--wow!

I've purchased a 68" 42# bow off the other site. Looks really nice. Bacote riser with a cocobolo stripe. Yew limbs with a bamboo core. Antler tips and cocobolo overlays.Hope to get by next weekend.
