What would the value be for a 1973 DH Hunter in good shape. The bow has the curved accent in the riser.  I'm looking to buy it price seems a little high but maybe it's not. Please let me know.

Used bow prices seem to be all over the place these days.I like and still have two of them.I bought a mid 80's Hunter I paid $100 for,probably because it was a 70# Hunter.I paid $250 for a 2008 Hunter is excellent shape.I paid $150 for a 1998 Hunter in great shape.Both of these are 50# bows.The Martin/Damon Howatt Hunter recurves are excellent bows in my opinion,shoot as good as any other recurves and their grip fits me great.I would guess anywhere from $150 to $250,but under $200 is more likely.Draw weight and condition can affect prices too.They just don't bring that high of prices,unless it may be one of the early purple heart models which I've seen go from $325 to $400 depending on condition.I think they have been around since the late 50's or early 60's.

Condition will make or break the value.  How was it treated and what shape is it in?  After that would be the weight suitable for you.

Hunters are good, solid bows and worth a look for sure.  But, like Charlie above, I'd look in the $100ish range, up to $200 if it was in great shape  and an option to return after inspection.  

When in doubt check the used bow listings on RMS Gear (a vendor here).  Good sampling of used bows and values.  You can beat 'em on auction sites and classifieds . . . but that's a gamble.

He's asking $350,I would say that's twice what is is worth.He probably isn't that familiar with bow prices.It is a good bow but not a rare bow that would command that price!Way too high in my opinion!

I've bought and sold these for $150-$250.

$350 had better be a like new bow.

I have seen those in private sales for $200-250....some consignment sites or **** up to $300...but it has to be in near perfect condition.  Otherwise, I would say less than $175 for normal wear and tear with some use scratches, dings, etc...but still nice.  The old Damon Howatts seem to be going for much higher prices than what I remember a few years ago...  I have seen a couple in the $400-500 range

Great bow.  I was selling it for a friend but was tempted to keep it.

$350 is about what the retail price was years ago as I recall.   I bought a Super D back in the day and they wanted a bit more than that for it.

About half is all I would pay today, and that is for a really nice one...
