I have two bows to get ready for my grandsons.  I have an 60" American Archery Flash, made here in Oconto Falls, Wi  and a Bear Grizzly 56" I believe a " 71 ".  I shoot longbows and not sure where to start with brace heights for these recurves.  Just wondering if anybody out there can get me going in the right direction.

Thanks,  Alan

I'd start at 8" and work up a few twists at a time until you're tuned.
52" Texas Recurve
58" Two Tracks Ogemaw
60" Toelke Chinook
62" Tall Tines Stickflinger
64" Big Jim Mountain Monarch
64" Poison Dart LB
66" Wes Wallace Royal

Basically, when the string is just starting to lift out of the grooves you're getting right in the ball park.

I would start at 7.5" and twist as needed. With a Flemish string.

I am from oconto as well, grew up there at least.

I think the advice on brace height is a good starting point.

The old school method of determining brace height, is to take the bow's overall length, and divide by 8.Usually right in the ball park!

Just picked up a flash for my girlfriend. Set the brace height around 8. Helps keep the string out of her arm and arrow flight is good enough till her shooting form smooths out.........
