guiding help

I am looking into getting into guiding, can anyone  steer me into the right direction for this

Yeah, I would start by looking up the State law's for guiding and outfitting.  What species of animal are you guiding for?  How much is the License?  Do you posse's the qualification's?  Insurance, if someone get's hurt as you guide them?

contact outfitters in your area and try and get on as an apprentice.  It will take a few years of experience to call yourself a guide.

Can you get on game consistently close enough for good ethical harvest? Secondly, can you do the same with large trophy sized animals? Not many will pay money to go shoot doe or small bucks. Imo...thats where you gotta start. Too many fellas out there that can do those things. Without that ability, you honestly don't stand a chance with the kind of competition you will be facing, whether trying to go to work for someone, or doing it on your own. It's a huge plus if you have proof of your abilities hanging on the wall. Sorry to be so blunt...but it's the truth. The only other route I know of, is to have connections.

Here's a guiding school that I have been looking into for a while. I graduated high school this year and am trying to decide which direction to go. This really appeals to me. Read through it and see what you think. It looks interesting and would be very beneficial IMO.

now what if you dont ge thired after the school somewhere, how do you search for work? theres really nothing on indeed or anything

I have a friend whose brother hired on to be a packer with a guiding outfit in Alaska. He got lots of guiding experience there. Maybe try something  like that just to see what you think of it.

There are several guide schools in Montana. I would suggest that route, you get lots of hands on experience and I would imagine that the schools may have job placement also.

I think that he did. I didn't know him very well since he was several years ahead of me in school, but I can ask his brother.
