How do I find the manufacture date and location of a wing thunderbird?
I've hunted almost every day of my life.....the rest were just wasted

At one time there was an individual on this site who went by "Wingnut". He would be able to help you if he is still around. Bob Lee Archery has stated in the past that they cannot answer or will not answer questions about Wing bows. Guess it was taking up way to much time.

One thing you would need to know is it a pure Wing Thunderbird or is it marked AMF, etc. I know there are Wing collectors on this site. Also,if I'm not mistaken, Traditional Bowhunter Magazine did a piece on Wing a few issues back. Good luck.

TTT.   I really need to know before I sell this bow and make a mistake.

If it says Head Ski Corp. on it, it's a 1968.  If it says AMF it's post 1968,  If it just says Wing Archery Co, it's a pre 1968.

If the label Wing Archery Houston or "head ski" it will be in the $125-$175 range depending on draw weight and condition.  The 62" model seems to sell for a little more as do the higher draw weights.  The original Wings prior to Head Ski are older and usually fetch a few more $$ too.

The AMF Thunderbirds are usually around $100 give or take again depending on condition and weight.

There was an article in TBM a few issues back that gave the time line of Wing Archery.
