Well I'm having an old fart day , out hunting morel mushrooms .
Seems like every time I go bow hunting or fishing , the childhood memories start to flow .
I'm finding a few mushrooms and remembering the times as a kid with my parents and grandparents looking for mushrooms .
My son sent me a bunch of pictures that my mom had and I found this picture of ol,' Graps when I was not so old .

Thought I would share this with you .
Buy the way , the hood is for black fly control and the plastic bucket is because I always ripped a sack while going through the woods .
This is only a couple years after my dad got me started shooting a bow and arrow .
Yeah , thoes were the days .....

That's  cool someone got you into the outdoors when you were young.  My grandpa is the i one who influenced me. He dies when I was 14 but I still remember every time he took me out hunting and fishing. Models are out a little around me. I have found a few whites down here around SE Grand Rapids  when I'm out working. Won't be long now and they'll be all over the place.

Sweet, looks like a official mushroom hunting top cover..when i was little growing up never looked for them until several years ago. Looks like ya had good times.. all ready picked a sack here in southern Iowa and had my fill of them.

Great photo, Graps, and good memories.  My great-grandmother would take me out gathering what she called "mustard greens" and "wood fish" (morels) when I was a youngster.  Later, in my teens, I would make special trips to her house to get them for her, after she couldn't.  Thanks for stirring the memory pot!

Love the dry land fish!  Hunted them as a child with my dad.  Fun times.  He actually brought me a mess of them a few weeks ago, they are wonderful to eat.

Glad you are enjoying this .
When we were mushroom hunting my grandfather would point out trails that were cut into the side of the hills and tell me about the " Side Hill Gougers . "
He also told me about the " Hide Behinds . "
I knew they weren't real ; are they !?    :scared:
Now very many years later I don't have anyone to enjoy the outdoor adventures with .
So I just have to take the memories with me .....
