That's hard to answer without first defining the environment and what other equipment you have available. 

If I only have a knife, I'd have to go with something larger and capable of heavier work like shelter making and fire prep such as this one...



But, if I could also have some other basic tools like a saw and axe or some really basic shelter and what not, then I'd personally opt for something smaller and lighter such as my Brow Tine model...
