Is it easier to sharpen one over thr other? I didn't know if the steel was harder in one or the other? I was thinking about trying the Zwickey Delta 4 blade with my set up,51# MOAB longbow, or should I stick with the 2 blade model? Lets hear everyones opinions.

dont have the specs but I believe a zwickey has a little harder steel, a magness seems to sharpen easier, but I really like a zwickey, the steel just seems right, holds a edge very well and sharpens well..I have shot zwickey 4 blades for 30 years on and off, I dont think there is a better head out there.

Tried em all....Seriously, I use to think that 3 bladed heads had an advantage over 2 bladed heads on shots that were less than perfect.  Albeit, I was wrong.  There are several good heads on the market today and most will do a good job if sharp.

However, my vote from this point forward goes to both Zwickey and Magnus 2 bladed heads.  They will not fail and they will not disappoint you!

Take it for what it's worth and I consider myself just an average bowhunter, but it is based on 25 years of experience and believing a 3 bladed head would make up for marginal shooting.

I know this is not really what you are asking about but thought I would just let you know that both the heads you are asking about are GREAT!

I personally think that the Zwickey sharpens somewhat easier myself but it could just be in my brain.  Good luck!

You can take a Magnus bh and an accusharp and get it sooooo scary sharp in just a minute.  Zwickeys take me a little more time.  If you have a hard time sharpening bhs, try the Magnus. You ain't gona go wrong with either one.  Most guys 'round here are using the Magnus.  They also have a lifetime guarantee.  If ya bend one, they will replace it free!

Of those two broadheads, I've always found the Zwickeys easier to sharpen.

I don't have access to a Rockwell(hardness) tester anymore, but its always been my impression that the Zwickey is just a touch harder. That dosn't necessarily mean that they are more difficult to sharpen. There are many different kinds of steel and heat treats and some are just easier to put and edge on than others and some will hold it better than others.

Twelve years ago, my new bride was out on a saturday going to garage sales. She came across
a large cardboard tube full of ancient looking
cedar arrows with rotten feathers, broken knocks,
missing nocks, and some of the arrows even had self nocks. The arrow stuffed tube measured fifteen inches across, and I could tell that the shafts were cut way too short for my draw. "Look at all the arrows I found for only $5.00", she said.

Trying to look as happy about the find as she was to give it to me, I tried to pull a better looking shaft out to look at it, and it wouldn`t budge. With a little more effort I was able to
remove a couple shafts at the same time.

To my surprise, almost every arrow in that tube
had a very well preserved Zwickey, or Bear head on it. Since that time the only time I buy broadheads, is to experiment.

I don`t know what is different about them, but if you think the steel on a brand new Zwickey is good, try one from "back then".

I have no problem with Magnus heads, but Zwickey`s
are my favorite. Especially the old ones.

People talk of poor blood trails while using two edge heads,... NEVER been a problem for me.

Magnus and Zwickey are both great broadheads. I don't think you can go wrong with either. I find the Magnus a little easier to sharpen though.

Great heads you can't loose.  Go with the two blade head...it worked for the Native Americans just fine and will give you better penetration.  Heck...Don Thomas uses two blade heads and he is a medical doctor so they must kill pretty good I figure.  That's been my experience.

I just received 3 OLD Zwickey Delta heads from a nice fellow in Sioux City, Iowa.  I paid only $8 for the 3.  They are blue.  Not green.

I laid a 14" mill bastard file on one for about 1 minute, beveling all sides about 20 times and then all sides with light strokes 10 times.

Shaved hair off my arm EASILY!!  Look no further than Zwickey or Magnus if you must.
