Yeah, they are that good!

Ken,

I think I said it earlier.  For 3 or 4 years, I kept one "extra" bow around as trade bait.  I just kept trading one top of the line bow for another.  I tried just about every recurve out there and I picked the Silvertip.  BUT, everybody is different.  Now as far as Black Widows go...Ken Beck is a super guy (and his wife too--we were lucky enough to be at the same table at a PBS dinner last year) but I just do not see why everybody raves about them.  I have tried at least a half a dozen of them (because I LOVE the way they look and WANT to like how they shoot) but each and every one has left me unimpressed.  Same with the Habu recurves.

Ghostman

I just received my 4th tip. Ebony riser with amarillo crescent wave, checkered grip, limbs have actionboo core with tulipwood vaneers, sheep horn tips and limb bolts.  SWEET!

Jeff; That is an absolutely awesome 'Tip!! I've got some Beauties, but Dave really outdid himself on this one. Have fun shooting!!

Guss

Jeff, that is a sweet bow! Love those skins!

Larry_T

Jeff Sample~ That's a beautiful bow!

I'm waiting on my first Silvertip~ placed the order last October after shooting a test bow Beth sent me.  Needless to say the wait is killing me. Thanks for the Silvertip fix guys! lol

swampjoe

Well I'll have to keep this one going:) - Jeff what a beauty that is.....I've got a plain walnut Silvertip and I love it.  Shoots great and the finish hangs tough even when you fall through the ice and partially submerge the lower limb:)

I will probably end up with a beaut like yours at some point or maybe I'll just buy lower # limbs when I get too creaky to pull it back.

And Sergio, your collection is priceless - good stuff man!

longpoint

Yeah Ghostman- sure would like to see some pics of your ebony/amarillo bow!!!

The Whittler

If you have a ST can you just buy the limbs from anyone or just from Dave, and he has to fit them to the riser. Alan

Jeff Holchin

Jeff, that bow is just too pretty to actually hunt with!  Better use your PSE Impalla for hunting and let me have that one........

Alan; S T limbs have to be fitted to riser and tillered. It would be Sheer luck to have used limbs fit a different riser.

Jim Parsell

How does the Silvertip compare in weight to a Palmer with the double limb bolts??  Thanks, Jim

Sergio, Tried the 4-fletch shield cut vanes on my Axis arrows and like it so far. here are some pics of the arrows I'm using now and that will be flying outta the Silvertip.

This is the tip, 160gr Snuffer on 42gr adapter with an aluminum footing.

this is just to show how tight of a fit the 75x105 4fletch is on the Axis.

Here is a 4fletch and a 3fletch I made with shield cut vanes...love the vanes! I chop em with a knife. Works great.

Here is one of the several similar groups I shot last night with the 3vane on one and the 4vane on the other. Don't notice a difference in speed. The elevated rest I put on has REALLY improved my accuracy. This is at 19-20yards. Ghostman, we need our pics now please  :D
