You guys are talking about point on and long range shooting; I have to tell you a little story.

Sunday I was supposed to meet a buddy at our archery club, early, to do a little stump shooting before church.  He was late, so I decided I would find my point on range with my Silvertip.  It ended up being 45 yards.  So, he finally gets there and we start bsing over by his truck.  So I'm explaining the whole thing and showing him the little Blazer vanes and he wants to see it work...so I let one rip and DRILL the target, which from his truck was 75 yards and on a 45 degree angle    .  I don't know if I could ever do that again, but it was perfect timing and those Silvertips are MAGIC!  He DID clean my clock stump shooting  

SERGIO, I can't find 4.5" blades for the Little Chopper...do you use the 5" ones?

    I use the 5in. little chopper and move the vane back 1/2 in. on the little chopper.once I got the cut I want, I mark the forward spot on the chopper with a sharpie marker pen.

Great photos A4C. Thanks for sharing. I have the Bowhunter Magazine TV episode that features Paul recorded on my DVR.

Those are some beautiful bows, I'm positive that a Silvertip will be my next bow purchase.

I thik the actionboo even kicks up the performance another notch beyond FF!

Bishop, would actionwood perform the same as actionboo? I believe Dave told me that the best performing veneer was the actionwood, which I would assume is about the same weight as the actionboo? thanks,

I don't know because I don't have 2 identicial sets of limbs with boo vs wood. The boo draws very smooth and I have heard from other bowyers it will increase performance. Actionboo is not listed I had to ask for it. It was a $20 option.

Pete Iacavazzi had the bow up for sale here on Trad Gang to raise funds for Bart's son. It was originally thought to be the bow that Bart used to kill the brown bear in that now famous photo that included Bart, Paul, Jeff Boothe and Brad Adams, but was found not to be (I want that one BAD).
When I get caught up on some other projects I want to order limbs from Dave & Beth for Bart's riser and hunt moose with it.
It is my favourite bow and a nice collectable piece of bowhunting history.

Well you have a beauty there! Glad to see it is in good hands.

Thanks for sharing the pics. I can imagine maybe some strange feelings come over you when you wrap your hands around that grip. ;-)

I've owned a LB and a REC and will own more in future. Dave builds an awesome bow....if you like medium sized risers with some mass on your recurve you should consider one.

If you like quiet, smooth drawing longbows you definitely should have a STP LB in your stable as well.

Those pics of Schaf' are great, it gives you some perspective of his shooting abilities...kickin around in the back yard with flip flops on, and look at that intense concentration, and dead-on, arrow - under-the-eye form!

Every bow that Dave builds has Schaf's spirit permanently installed.

You wont find a better, quieter, fancier recurve out there...anywhere!

       Just spoketo Dave a couple of hours ago about a new set of limbs for my 62" grey actionwood riser that Paul built for me just before he left us. It's my work horse bow !! I 'm amazed t how well I can shoot it out to 60 yds.!!Notice in the pic how high Paul anchored and when he hit full draw he would then drop his head(eyes) right over the arrow.Awesome!

the riser was an unusual one in that it was dyed bocote with a shedua double wave bordered with black phenolic, checkered grip.

The limbs were zebra wood dyed to match the riser with shedua limb wedges/fadeouts to match wave in riser. FF compatible. Quite an elegant bow that accounted for several pigs and deer before I sent it to someone else to make memories with!

What strikes me about those photos is Paul's back in the full draw picture. It's curved, just like Howard Hill's in some photos I have seen...the mark of someone pulling heavy bows for fun!!!!

Maybe everyone's back looks like that but I have not seen it in too many photos.
