I have a 68" Challenger from Scherrinsky with 20" riser.
66#@30"@540grs..213-216fps.
64#@29"@540grs..206-208fps
62#@28"@540grs..203-205fps
The AMO (60# @ 30" @ 540grs.) is around 206-210fps.
I had it force curved at 29"-30"
Bow is 11 years old.. I would say it holds up well to the recurves. It was built for speed with optimun limb lenght, riser mass and precise core tapers.

wow never expected this much response it is really appreciated helps enormously in the search for first longbow i'll post when i buy thanks again are the fast longbows quiet too!

Most any of the top bowyers(and others) bows can be easily quieted with tuning and proper arrow choice.

Man Joebuck, I'd love to see a pic of that Scherrinsky.  Those numbers are fantastic!

The Habu VyperKahn is a 3 piece t/d, r/d longbow. You can also buy recurve or hybred curve limbs in addition to the r/d longbow limbs. Mine is very fast and quiet. Also the best craftsmanship I have seen on a trad bow.

My son and I both shoot ACS-CX RD longbows; and they are right up there with the fastest recurves. Very little HS and very quiet shooting bow. The Fedora RD longbow is right there too, as are others.

Centaur is faster, quieter, less handshock, than ANY recurve I have shot , Bear, Widow, Pearson, etc

rnharris - I have just spent many weeks doing my research on here and asking many questions.  I had the same thought in mind as you and had some of the same responses as you did.

After much research and deliberation I just ordered my Turkey Creek.  If you want a bow that is as fast as the big-boys (without the wait), has excellent quality of finish, no hand shock, looks great and with a great bloke to deal with -Go the Turkey!$%!!

AHHH suttoman you have learned your lessons well.Just let me add this and I will shutup.I had a Fedora hybrid my Brushbow shot the pants off that bow and the Fedora was close to 900.00 new.My "CREEK" is  noticeable faster than my Horne's.Two month wait,base bow 425,Doug is a great guy.OK nuff said.

I have not shot it through a chrono but on my Sevenlakes I had to replace my feathers with asbestos sheeting to stop them from catching fire.

Check out Horne's. I am very happy with my Traditionalist,plenty fast for me!!! Great customer service too!!! I will be ordering a Brushbow soon.

Well, I think by now the word is getting out about Doug and Turkey Creek...

My Turkey Creek is noticably faster than my Palmer Double Carbon ('course it's 7-8 pounds heavier...but still, everyone knows a Palmer ain't chopped liver for a 'curve).

I am most impressed with JoeBucks longbow. In my experience I have had some shorter longbows that were as fast as my recurves but due to my sometimes ugly form they were not forgiving. A longer longbow , say 64" on up would be ideal. I would rather have a fairly quick forgiving longer bow than a short fast finicky one. You fellas with good form can do well with`em but critters make me jumpy.RC

I have a 56# at 28" 58" Pronghorn longbow and, when I first got it, also had a 56# at 28" Morrison takedown recurve.  Both very fine bows and easy to tune and shoot.

I expected the Morrison to be substantially faster, so I was surprised when I tested them side by side (same arrows, same shooter, same day, alternating arrows).  The difference in speed when drawn and anchored as I ordinarily do was about 3 feet per second... not enough to matter.

I have a Mikuta hybrid longbow..
It seems a lot faster than my Bear Grizzly and Hoyt at the same pounds..I know their older bows though, don't know it that would make any differance. I may try to crono sometime..
