During the hunting season(for the most part)
I'll start
Just before the season starts after I have practiced with them and checked there flight for a week or two I sharpen them to hunting sharpness and test penetration in different mediums. Then if I am satisfied with all the results I sharpen them for hunting. When I take my stand I touch up the broadhead of the arrow I will nock right then.
Now the Snuffers I use for home defemse, those I sharpen everyday well at least strop everday to keep the shaving sharp. However I keep the ferrule rusty.  :bigsmyl:

Everything in my quiver gets touched up just before I leave for the hunt.

I try not to let my mind wander...It is too small and fragile to be out by itself.

Before I hunt with them and after I shoot something.  :)

Not sure why there would be a need to sharpen them every day or even during the whole season unless they get shot.
....Quality deer management means shooting them before they get tough....

about every 37 minutes. i only touch up the one arrow that comes in and out of my quiver.

Carry a 6" Grobet with me all the time. When you carry only three BH's and shoot as poorly as I do resharpening is a daily exercise.

Curtiss, I don't know which is scarier. The fact that you use Snuffers for home defense or that you leave the ferrel rusty. You are one "...bad moth...  :scared:

touch-up the night before a morning hunt and i'll usually just do the #1 arrow( the one that goes in and out of the quiver) again before the evening hunt-=---gues that's once a day ?

I strop every night after the hunt even if an arrow has never been drawn. They get dull just from the movement of the quiver as you move thruout the day. Frank

Everytime I stick one in the dirt!!! That is if it isn't bent in a J from the rocks.

If you ever have to use one for "Home Defense" that will probably be the first intruder shot with an arrow since The Little Bighorn.

Way cool Brother!

Actually back in the 80s a paraplegic used a Black Widow recurve and a judo point to shoot an intruder in the hip rotator. He asked the man to leave three times and each time the man just said something like "what can you do if I don't crip(pled)?" So he nocked an arrow and held low. Now that perp walks the yard at Jackson prison with a limp.

Oh and John, I think you misjdge me. I mean I'm just trying to be considerate of the neighbors. I mean a gunshot would wake them up.

about as often as I get bored around the camp waiting on something to come off the grill for breakfast, lunch, dinner, mid afternoon snack, mid morning snack.  So I guess the answer is quite often.
