June, 12th & I HATE SUMMER!!!

Bugs, Snakes, Sweat, Heat, Ticks, Chiggers, Flies, Sunburns.......and 5 months till deer season!  :banghead:    :banghead:    :banghead:

If it wasn't for the extra time I get to spend with the kids it would be a complete waste.

Is there anywhere it stays November all year long?  :archer:

Anyone else ready for fall already?

I'm always ready for fall in the Ozarks. Beautiful time of the year here. It starts getting bearable here around the second week of September.

Hmmm, if you want to fight the heat, humidity, skeeters, chiggers, tics and rattle snakes, you can start hunting deer here in the Lowcountry of SC on August 15, 2007.  As for me, it is not worth the fight.  Plus, you have 20-30 minutes to find a deer you shoot before meet spoilage becomes a problem.  I believe bow hunters lose lots of deer in August and September around here because they have to start the search immediately and they push deer a whole lot further than they would normally go.

Summer
Shoot the bow next to the pool.
Jump in for a quick dip.
Dream of Africa...only 1 1/2 months to go.
Shoot some more, imagining the target is a kudu.
Tie up some flies that I am sure will be my new secret weapon for smallmouth and largemouth.
Shoot some more arrows, this time it's an eland.
Remodel my "perfect" bass fly.
Shoot some more arrows trying not to be distracted by my beautiful wife sunbathing next to the pool.
I love the fall, but summer will do for now   :bigsmyl:

Fishing....fishing .... and more fishing.

I'm loving it guys! Highs of 65-70 degrees. Good weather to work outside and get caught up so you can go scouting for elk and deer!

Summer: Trading off all the extra crap that I had to have to make it through the last hunting season while looking at things I might need to buy for next year.

Shooting until my fingers bleed trying to relive that miss that I still should have made on that Illinois whitetail.

Glassing whitetails until my eyes bug out in the evening while trying to maintain the peace between my 5 and 3 year olds as we sit in my old jeep eating chicken nuggets.

and finally: Building up spouse points by trying to do every little task on the current honey-do list so that when October rolls around I won't hear about all the things I need to getr done before she's widowed for the winter!

I went camping with kids this weekend and that part was great.
But we haven't had a good rainfall here in weeks and the flies are horrible!
They are starting to talk about declaring an official drought so the farmers can get some help from the government.

Anyone know how to do a raindance?
