This is my two tone "B" riser.

The two tone risers are absolutely beautiful. Probably one of the nicest looking combinations to ever leave the Bear factory. I have to say that I was a little disappointed in the figure in the Bubinga that they used in this riser.  It is just kind of straight and plain.  Nothing like the Bubinga that is in my "A" & "B" Bubinga risers or my grayling green Super Kodiak. There is a lot of figure in those risers. But still, I think the two tones are beautiful.

Here is my Bubinga "A" riser.  This bow is stunning.  I have had several people stop me and ask if it was a special order as the wood looks that nice.  Nothing wrong with the two tone, but figure in a riser like this will spoil you.  My Bubinga "B" has almost as much figure in the grain as this ones has.

All these bows look totally awesome. I've been looking for one for quite a while. Pretty much an impossibility.  Some day .....

I'm working on a trade to add another T/D to the rack....

Two tone time?
I`m happy to have this beautyful, in my eyes a bit exotic looking, green stripe riser in my collection:

That's a great looking riser!   Love the blond wood

Thanks! It is 100% flawless. I got the chance to buy it some years ago from someone in Germany who seems never really used the bow. 2 pair of green tipped limbs came with the bow. 50lbs and  70 lbs. It is a kind of holy grail for me.

Hey Guys - 1st post on this board.

I was with my wife getting her a Hoyt Buffalo for Xmas. While looking at the Hoyt, she noticed a Kodiak TD next the Hoyt.

After doing some research (and finding this thread) I concluded she had a excellent eye. So she now has a Kodiak TD (Black Maple B-Riser with #1 limbs @ 35#).

After shooting her Kodiak, I was so impressed with it, I just bought one for myself  :) . I picked up a Black Maple A-riser with #1 limbs @60#.

So thank you to everyone that has made this thread so full of information etc.

Thanks again
Ken

What about some close up pictures of the black maple riser. Just looking on the Bear website it looks pretty sharp also.

Questions....
Are the shooting qualities of the TDs much different than the regular Super K?
 And....
Are there any custom bowyers making risers w/ the Bear TD system? Many bowyers have made their repro's of the 50s & 60s Bears and a few make the TD limbs but I'm not aware of anyone building the TD risers.

I saw a thread on here that shows some risers that one guy was building that were copies. They were drop dead gorgeous.

I've got one of the new 2014 take-downs and a 1971 Super K. They're both great shooters.  The take-down has a little more zip because I'm using fast flight style string versus old B-50 on the Super K.  Also, there's more mass weight in the take down than my super K. I like the take-down because of the take-down mass weight and no tool take-down feature

...  When thru the forest glades I wander and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees, when I look down from lofty mountain grandeur and hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze, ...How great Thou art!

All quit at the Custom Kodiak front?
I assume we can see many new ones when Santa Claus has done his job finally next week;-)

I'm still waiting for my all Bubinga Risers. That's the hell!!

Kermit

Hi guys, while waiting for my all Bubinga riser Custom Kodiaks I got the chance to shoot a used Bear Take Down on the bay in Germany. It has been arrived short before we lighted our christmas tree and is a nice thing. The owner did not know much about it. Only that it was once imported from the US, that he only shot the bow 2 or 3 times and that it is a rare piece were only 200 units were made off. He guesses that the bow dates back to the later 80`s. Serialnumber is TDHH-171. No markings/ silk screens on the limbs, exept draw weight and lenght were it belongs. I try to post pics asap. Maybe someone of you can help me to get some knowledge about this custom Kodiak?? Maybe someone of you was once the original owner too??
MERRY CHRISTMAS

Kermit

Would be happy to get any information about its history and dating of the bow:

Good looking riser Kermit.  You don't see many of those brown "no stripes".
