I actually sold the A-handle after a failed search to find #3 limbs in the right poundage for it (foolish move).  Anyhow, Thought I should post pics of the Bear TDs in action...They do look better laying on the side of downed game!

Hey Jorge,  After seeing your photo, I believe we hunted together down at Nickie's in Fla. a couple years back. Looks like between the two of us we can field a dozen or so Bear takedowns.

Here is  green stripe that I picked up a week or so ago.  It was sold as new, in the box and un shot. You certainly couldn't disprove this claim by the condition of the bow.  Beautiful. And yes, I have strung it and shot it!

It has the "Fred Bear" grip on it with the lower cut shelf.

When shooting off of the shelf it definitely puts the arrow right down on your hand.

@Cacciatore: I see you had quite a pile of impressive critters on this thread, that's what inspired me to upload these pics. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Randy! Yeah, we did meet up at Nickie's Archery Outfitters for a February Hog Hunt. We have been hunting down there for 7 straight years, but I won't make it this February 2014. Spent the cash on new siding for the house  :(

Here's a pic of my 2010 hog at Nickie's, shot with a 1985 Bear TD.

I am going to miss hunting down there myself this year. I am going to take that time and money to go to the P.B.S. banquet in Cincinnati in March.

Hey Jorge. Good to see you posting here. I am glad to see you are doing ok. That's a nice set of bear Takedowns you have there. I look to see you in Cincinati in March.

Hi Tony!  Good to hear from you. Hope you had a great Christmas and another good hunting season. This year I saw 5 bucks make 4 different scrapes in my little patch but never got a shot opportunity. Damn stickbows! I won't make Cincinnati but have a great time!

Just ordered my first Bear T/D!  Black Maple "A" riser and #3 limbs, 52@28!

Question for Bear T/D shooters:  what's your string setup?  I've read of some people using strings 4" below AMO and others needing a string 3" below AMO.   Also, what material are you using?  All of my other bows in the 50# range use 12 strands of D10 padded to 14 strands.

I've accumulated a small stack of them over the last few years, "A" risers with #3 limbs and "B" risers with #1 limbs.  All make up a 60" bow.  On each of the new production bows that I have gotten in I noticed that they were tough to get quiet with the D-97 string that was shipped with the bow. I am shooting a Linda Brackenbury string on all of them now and they are whisper quiet. I am shooting 14 strand FF+ strings that are 56" long.

Great thread! My grandpa shot Bear T/D's exclusively and that's the bow that got me going down the trad path. I'm shooting one of his B mag risers now and love the slim grip on it. I really want a wood handle for it, but wondering how the grips match up? The few that I've handled have been "blockier" and don't fit well. The Mag grip is a 2R I believe. Any feedback is appreciated!

I always thought the Bear T.D. was also the best of the best.  I have a beautiful, wood riser "A" 60" 72@27" that I wouldn't go hunting without.  My son is a "Hill" man and so we represent both worlds when we hunt together.

Does anyone have a new 2014 model yet?  Like the wood combo.

My A riser is ordered for 2 months, since no piece of news.
