What with the Bubinga riser on the bottom?  Is that a prototype or something they are looking at bringing out?  It looks GREAT!

I just got some Border Hex ^ limbs for my B Bear riser and they were a lot faster than my red tip limbs. All the below info is @28" draw, 440gr arrow. same shooter, same chronograph, same day.

Hex 6 48lb compared to red tip 47lb..Hex 6's 11fps faster

Hex 6 48lb compared to red tip's 56lb... same speed

Craig, I don't really care for the camo riser, but the one on the bottom looks great.

Craig, Post some more pics of the Bubinga Handle!!!!

Come on Craig, you can't post a pic like that and not say something about it. I was hoping they would do a two tone riser.

Let us in on it.

Might be my eyes but do the shelfs on these two look just a bit lower?

No, I wuld say that the top one is a Red Stripe with the camo dip and the bottom one is the standard shelf on the bubinga model. I love the two tone.

My either late 1983 or early 1984 #55 green stripe. Shoots great and love it!

Sorry I don't have a "action" pic!

Cedar sure goes nice with Bubinga. this is my new best Pal.

hopefully it will look even better with a little Wyo moose blood on it this fall.

Out with it Craig, is that the black cap bubinga riser that has been rumored to be in the works??

Tom hit the nail on the head, the camo is a red stripe that had a cosmetic flaw so I dipped it,its turned into my go to hunting bow as it's a great shooter.
I just finished up the Bubinga/Ebony riser last week. we had a small piece of Ebony laying around so we made a couple of risers out of it. We're thinking of making a Bubinga with black dymondwood caps for 2013, we made a few prototypes and they look nice. we may take them to a few shows this summer to get folks opinions on them.
Both of the risers in the pic have the same cut shelves as the standard one do.

JB, those limbs look great on that Big Jim Bubinga riser.

Great re-reading on Memorial Day. Don't know how I missed it the 1st time through but the link to the article about Bear was very interesting.

Thanks Craig for the info on your two handles. Are you going to be at Denton Hill this year with the prototypes?

With all of these new T/D's I am not sure what I will do. I love my Red Stripe. I picked up a new set of 53lb limbs and matched some 2117 Easton Legacy shafts to it, and it is shooting great. I'm not sure I could cheat on it with a blackcap Bubinga.

Black Capped Bubinga!!!!!!!!
Oh my ----- that is sooooo tempting -- Though I don't NEED another Beat TD riser. If it ends up looking anything like the bubinga/ebony it will be beautiful.

hey fellow takedown fans! I'm really enjoying shooting my new red stripe. having an issue with the compass though and wondered if anyone else experienced it and had any suggestions... the thing rattles on every shot! I have singled it out as the compass and even the slightest thump produces the chatter. so... anyone else experience this? I'm not partial to the compass if removing it is the only suggestion, but what to put in its place?

also, going to be putting some cottonmouth skins on the limbs soon... can't wait to show everyone! I think it will look pretty sweet!

tomwatson

I would try to replace it. Mine rattles if I shake the bow, but when I shoot it, I don't hear a thing.
