You're in the ballpark right now. I prefered shooting a brace on the higher end of Widow's recommendation....8 1/2"-8 5/8" usually. WHat weight and length is the bow and what shafting are you shooting from it? Mike

....should have specified that I measure from the string to the deepest part of the grip (throat). I know that on the new PMA's, Widow recommends 8 1/4"-9". Mike

Mike, what about a PSAX 60" bow, what are the brace height tolerances. Thanks,

I have had the best luck around 8 5/8

Mine works best at 8 5/8" also.

peak98, the same goes for the SA/PSA series too. I usually shoot Widow recurves right at 8 5/8" to 8 3/4" and form the otehr posts, that appears to a popular height. Good luck fellars! Mike

Thanks everyone. I got to 8 5/8 before I stopped for the night. Higher I went the quieter it got as well. Nice bonus. I bought this one as an investment to refinish and flip. Now I'm having second thoughts about selling it.

Mike is right 8 1/4"- 9". I shoot my PSA III at 8 1/2.
