What carbons do you suggest w/100grn inserts and 150 grn head?

Russ,
I'm shooting a 53lb recurve, 27" draw. My arrows are 28 1/2"  beman ventures 400. I shoot 100 gr brass inserts with 250 gr points. The bare shafts shoot right with the fletched arrows. This setup works well for me.

My Hornes Brushbow is cut before center. She's 52#s at my 27" draw. I shoot 250 grain heads out of her.My Turkey Creek longbow is cut to center and around 54#s at my 27" draw. I shoot 175 grain heads out of her. The arrows are Gold Tip 35/55 Traditionals cut to 27 5/8's.

Oh very nice bow by the way TP sure makes a sharp bow. Is that cocoabolla/actionwood in the riser?

Maconducks,
I shoot a similar flatbow with similar weight and draw length.  I shoot Carbon Express rebels that have taken a beating on stumps and couple of small trees.  They are not expensive compared to other carbons and shoot very nicely.  I added a length of 7/32, Ace Hardwardware, clothes line to the inside to add 100 grains.  I also  bought glue-in nock inserts so the rope wouldn't pop out the nock when it hit harder objects.  I shoot a 125 grain head with screw in insert added.  Hope this helps.
