Here's a bow that I finished a little while back.  It is 66" ntn and pulls 57# at 28".

That is a beaut. All the way from the tip overlays, which look like they went over the snakeskin, to the handle wrap. WOW!!!

Purty lines!  What color stain is that? Red Mahogany?

the Ferret

One of the prettiest bending bows that I have seen. Nice work Stan.

That's a beautiful bow!

That sure is a sweet bow Stan. Will you be attending the GV rendezvous next week? If so, I sure would like to see your new bow up close.

Superb work, hazel has a special place in my heart as bow wood.

Thanks for the nice words, all.

Ray, you are correct there are a number of great bowyers in Oregon (I'm not one of them, but I learn a lot from them).

Gordon and Bryan Briand (BryanB) helped me quite a bit with this bow, and it wouldn't be tillered as well without them.  I've also had help in bow building from Mike Cochran, Jim Fetrow and John Strunk (who is a magician in my opinion).  Though I've never met him Keenan (bornagainprimitive) from Bend makes some absolutely stunning bows as well.

Of course, I've had a lot of help from great folks on this site as well.  I've learned a TON from Mickey and his website, perhaps most importantly to just go ahead and DO IT.  David Mims has also been a very big help in my education as a fledgling bow builder.  That guy has an unbelieveable eye for tiller, which at this point in my bowbuilding is still top priority.

So, thanks to all who post pics of their work.

Stan

BTW, Gordon I started Summer league basketball yesterday and will be busy until after the 4th of July.  Maybe sometime after that?

That is a dandy. Hap

Beautiful lines and classic tiller on that bow; congrats on your new bow.

BryanB

Stan-
Your bow turned out excellent.
The lines are really nice.
Were you able to get a turkey with it?
Bryan

StanM

Hey Bryan,

Nope.  Never fired a shot at a turkey.  Was only able to get out once.  Looks like this bow may have to cut it's teeth on nutria over the summer and deer in the fall.  How about you, you have any luck with toms?

Stan

Terry Riley

Beatiful job Stan! The tiller looks wesome at full draw
