David,

I am glad to see you back on. You had us worried there. I hope all is well.

Danny,

I once said, that if I could, I would like to own one of every custom bow made. That statement is no longer realistic. The number of bow makers and prices will forever prevent that form happening, at least for me any way. However, I would like to have some of them. I am a wood freak. I love the looks of an incredible piece of wood. Especially if it is in the composition of a bow, recurve or longbow. There are many really good craftsmen out there now who make not only great looking bows but bows that shoot incredibly well. I enjoy shooting different ones. One day I might shoot one of my Blacktails. The next day I may decide on one of the Borders or the Black Widow. Some days I may string up two, shoot one awhile and then switch to another for awhile. I come home from a hard days work grab a bow and head to the back yard. I usually find it very relaxing and a good way to unwind in the evening after work.

Danny, sorry I caused you to stumble. I am still looking for the right longbow. Like you I have bought and sold several bows looking for the one I really like. Once I have found it I put it on the rack to share time with my other favorites.

Hello, my name is Steve. I too am a bow-aholic. Due to the corporation's accountant(my sweet bride) I'm on the wagon for the umpteenth time. But this thread is starting to make feel me unbalanced and dizzey again!

Big 5, Wesley Special, Liberty English, Northern Mist Whisper, Crooked Stik, Saxon Kadiak, Bear SK, Chaparral Kaibab, Hoyt Gamemaster, BW Ironwood, Bear Montana, Marriah Chinook and untold amount of bows traded and sold.

I've had the sickness since I built that first sapling bow and arrows as a 9 year old. After building that bow I used it to defend my tree house from a bully who constantly tortured me. As he was trying to destroy my trusty fort I drew blood by shooting him squarely in the forehead. He then ran home squealing bloody murder for his mother. Judgement was passed swiftly on my crime of passion and my butt still feels warm as I recollect the punishment. The bully never bothered my again. Man! that feels good to get off my chest 45 years latter. Thanks Guys & Gals. It's been a sweet sickness indeed!

Lemee see, those recurves Brandon Stahl's crafting sure look nice...................................

Answer to your question "Will it ever end". Three answers. 1. NO  2. I hope not 3. Why would you want it to?

For Danny all you have to ask is "Are you still breathing?". If he is then it hasn't ended yet. (same for Don)

Danny, I can help you. You need a 12 step program. Step one: Send me all of your bows for safe keeping.
Step two: Send me all of the money that you would spend on new bows. Ha!

Hi Danny,
I'm right there with ya. Since I received the bow from you I've picked up two more. It must be an epidemic!

David, my friend, you can always make me laugh when I need a good one.

Terry, how is that Robertson treating you?

i started this craze/lust of traditional bows back in 98'. yeah i know i'm a late bloomer, but hey i'm here to stay.  any way i have 3 custom bows and a pile of others from bears to martin's and even a few wings.  never thought i would like a widow until i got to stroke one of their 50th anniversary models last week. it was osage with black glass and a red lam. absolutely beautiful and smooth pulling. haven't done it yet, but i can see a widow in my future. then again i still don't have a bunch of the others that keep teasing me as well. looks like none of us are alone at least.  so many bows, so little time.

I'm getting worse as well-sold my silvertip and hatfield, but still have a habu t/d, a gamemaster, a thermal, an RER on order and making plans for my next already-my wife walks by me on the computer and asks why I'm looking at bows at the  time: "you can only hunt with one at a time right". I'm thinking the next one will be a rose oak or a bob lee, yet another habu would be nice.....

I know he's considering selling at least one so he must have two in mind to replace it.    :D
