Does anyone know what all of them are? I remember the Rogue, Three Toes, King of the North. What is considered the "best"? I am thinking of going to a Howard Hill bow, retiring the KMAG and the Herters.

I didn't know about the Rogue and would appreciate information on it.   I do know about Ol' Three Toes (one coming), Wild Boar (have it) and Kind of the North, (have it).    There was also a Centennial... 100 bows made in  what would have been Howard's 100th year.

Dick the Rogue is a bow I saw pictured at a website. it was basically a 100# Wesley with elephant inlay, elephant grip. If it was not one of the SE that I stand corrected.

I have a custom Big Five  that was made by Craig Ekin in 92 that was called "A Legend". It has ivory tips and elephant ear skin(according to Craig) grip and rest. It is all bamboo with a shedua riser and is my signature Hill. No amo or weight advice put on it, I am the second owner. The first claimed to have most of the #2's in special editions and if this one is any indication, he has some pristine 10-20 year old Hills still on the rack.

OK... thanks for the clarification on the Rogue.   Please understand that the following is just "as I understand things at this point" information, but this is how I have it sorted out...

there have been "special editions", i.e. bows specifically made to a certain design in terms of their extras and special features, and very stictly limited to a specific number.   As far as I know, this has been 50 bows in the edition, except for the Centennial, which had 100.

Now, beyond those, there are custom bows, which are bows specially ordered that can mimic many  of the features of special editions.   Craig will build most anything on a custom basis and put the name on it that you choose.  

I have a King of the North and a Wild Boar, and just recently purchases an Ol' Three Toes.   These are all 50 bow limited editions.

I also have several custom models, labelled as such, i.e. "Custom made by Craig Ekin for....." and a couple of bows that are not labelled as either special editions or as customs, but which have non-standard names on them, probably just names selected by the owner.   I have one named "Falcon", one named "Nottingham" and one I ordered which is a Tembo that I ordered with the name "Wanderobo"  on it.

Currently, the Howard Hill Longbowmen are working with Craig to develop a special bow that will be available only to them.  It won't be a "limited edition", i.e. only so many made, but only members of the group will be eligible to order it.

If anyone else has information regarding any other special or limited edtions, I'd love to get it, as I'm trying to build a knowledge base on them.

Dick, Thanks for the info. Currently I shoot a R/D longbow made by a guy out in Az, I also have a KMag, and a Herters Sitka, but after shooting a Wesley Special the other day, I am thinking that I want a Hill, probably a WS or something different. Again thanks

I saw a Rogue for sale the other day.  I need to track down where I saw it.  The elephant inlay was awesome looking.
