Well almost a year ago we were on a pig hunt with Tony McCall and his Dad down in south Texas.  We took a prototype BushWacker with us to try out.  Both Tony's fell in Love and began trying to work out a way to get there own.  After a few months they came up with a plan and we got em in the loop.  Well one problem was that they didn't want any white on the horn belly.  Watusi almost always has some white so they said they would wait for just the right horn.  Today we finally finished both bows.

The horn we found was extremely rare and is almost transparent to midlimb and then goes ebony black to the tips.

Here are some pics:

Dang I'm not sure we should even give these to a couple of guys from Arkansas.

LOL

The bows are both 58" and 51#s @ 28.  Big Tony's has osage and bamboo limbs with a cocobolo and osage riser.  Little Tony's is 58" and 51# @ 28 but has yew and bamboo limbs with a coco and yew riser.  They are very much alike as they wanted but also very unique.

The Yew and Coco bow is all mine, the other is Dad's.  We are leaving Monday for another pig hunt in TX where we will lay claim to those little beauties...  By force if need be!   :bigsmyl:

ARKANSAS? Geesh I didn't know they were from ARKANSAS.

Them bows are too pretty for boys from ARKANSAS.

Man, I had to stop and wipe the drool off of my keyboard...  I believe mine is the one on the left at the top and the one on the bottom in the rest of the pics.  What a looker!

Mike, you're not playing fair.     :readit:    The last day before a vacation is always tough, but now there is no way I'm going to be able to concentrate tomorrow with visions of that little beauty bouncing thru my head!

Hopefully we will follow this thread with Hero pics in just a few days.  If those sticks shoot half as good as they look we will be making meat for the freezer by the middle of next week!

I would have posted sooner but I have just come too again. I must have passed out from the excitment of just knowing that one of those beautiful creations is mine. Tuesday is just too long to wait for this special bow. I'm not worried about the bow being able to shoot its me getting over the excitement and still being able to shoot that worries me. Heck a smart hog will see that beauty and just fall over dead from fear of getting shoot by it. Mike it's more then I expected and I am so grateful for the effort that I no you and Jason have put into this project. I just can't wait.

Man the premier bows of arkansas now will reside in Jonesboro, Arkansas. And one of them will sleep at my house. I can stand that.

Wow I can just see that osage pop next to that ebony horn near the tips of that bow. I still can't believe my eyes when I see those things. Man it's going to be a long time till tuesday.

Hey Mike, I just talked with Keith Stokes and his wife surprised him today with a Dryad Bow blank...  He's pumped!  Now I gotta get busy and make him a tillering string.

OMG! those are a pair of lookers for sure!  Almost as pretty as mine.   :D
got arrows?

Way cool bows.  I have to admit that when I read the description I had absolutely no idea what a watusi was.  So a little googling later and I found this picture of a watusi:

OK, so that guys horn growth was not typical for a watusi, but Daaa-aaamn.  That is one mutant cow.  For those that want to know, watusi are an african breed of cattle with long upswept horns.

Again, way cool bows.  You two Tonys are really lucky guys.

Ugly?!!! If those are ugly, I can't imagine what you would call beautiful. Very nice work Mike. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Matt

Dang it, I'm sorry I'm putting you two through this. . . .NOT!!  Heck Tuesday is only about a month away and it won't take you more then 3 days to drive down that night from Arkansas.  LOL

Sorry the pics didn't turn out near as good as the bows did.  Going to have to breakdown and get that lighting setup Connie's been wanting.

They shoot great!!

I was so excited yesterday we took the pics before we put the ink on.
