On making a selfbow.  I've been following Jawge's Bow Making Directions & others, but I serendipitously (whew) ran up on this Excellent article by Dean Torges on selfbow building in a 1997 issue of Traditional Bowhunter magazine.  I think it was part of a series, so I'll have to go back & retrieve the others.  It is super.  I need to read more of his stuff!  That guy can WRITE!  Plus, he knows his stuff!

I met dean at Appling Ga. this past month and I really enjoyed talking to him and listing to what he had to say about bow building.He does know his stuff and is a super guy.

He Deserves the "Good Press" as I really Enjoy watching him in the "Masters" and "Hunting the.." Videos!! He Cracks me up with the Off Hand Comments, and He is not Afraid to Laugh at Himself,  THAT  I can Relate to!! Sorry Dano, if Dean is impossible to live with now, I Apologize.

He is ok for a height challenged individual,     I have never met Dean in person, but I've bugged the heck out of him on the phone when I started out...and in my book he is aces.

Dean is good man and a great writer, Mulberry. The articles in TBH formed the nucleus for Hunting the Osage Bow. It's a good buy. Jawge

The man can write. Go to his website and look into his article database. "The Elements Of Style" is one of my favorites.

How come you never see his writing in TBM anymore? I really enjoyed his stories, especially the the one where he and Lew took the mules on a hunt. About laughed myself to death on that one.
