Last year we tried the no-blind-camo-netting route...not good, got rained on, and busted more than once.
This year I ordered a Groundmax escape deluxe...came from Cabela's today via UPS!

Easy to set up, well made, 75"high, 77"wide. 12 windows, shoot thru mesh, real roomy, I was shooting out of it today to 15 yards, no probs.

The big windows will have to wait until my 58" Thunderbird arrives. ( not in time for turkeys though   :(   )
But the smaller ones are good sized and easy to shoot thru. Will be fun to take the kids and spouse along once in awhile, 'specially when deer season comes!
Good value, quality is great, got all 5* ratings on the review page at Cabelas.
My 64" longbow is shown leaning against it.

wow that is cool i like it. that should fool some turkeys i bet and a few deer as well.

BigDog, I just read about that blind on Cabela's site. It mentions "cable technology". How does that differ from the hubs w/ fiberglass poles? It looks like a nice sized blind for traditional bows, heightwise.

VTer, the poles are attatched to the hubs with thin aircraft cable, kind of like how tentpoles are joined with shock cord.
Makes it pretty impossible to break the hubs with this system and it sets up very fast and take's-down even easier.

It is good width-wise as well, it is 77"wide.

I was going to get the Double Bull, maybe next season I will, but the cost of getting one here would put it up well over 500 bucks USD by the time all fees were paid to get it here. Would be about 600 bucks++ Canadian!   :scared:    :scared:  I think this one will work okay for a few seasons

Hey I just got the same blind!!They're pretty nice aren't they?Definitely more than adequate for the birds. They dont glare to bad either so with a little shading with natural materials it should work pretty well on deer too.I really like the pockets in the blind also.Just think you could buy a few of those for the same price as the DB(Not dishin them I really like them too they're just a little pricey).

Have fun with it.
Dont shoot feather light arras, shoot railroad ties.

Warning!!  Shooting through the mesh on those widows...WILL...affect arrow flight.  Any windows that use velcro to fasten will affect your arrow flight negatively.

The mesh must hang loosely as it does in the Double Bull models.

Just a "heads-up" for ya!
When the journey becomes as valuable as the goal........go "traditional."

B.O.D.

I can just unfasten the bottom edge of mesh,,,, that  will take care of that problem.
My 1st want was a DB matrix, but they make it so darned expensive to get up here in Canada.
All the "dealers" they have listed For up here have no website...kinda sucks.

I didn't have any problems shooting thru my velcroed netting on my Gametracker Blind when I tried it. I don't use the netting anymore for turkeys though. I feel its not neccesary.

My favorite is the Northwoods Kwik blind made in the U.P. of Michigan. It's so easy to carry and set up and is comfortable in all kinds of weather.

Nice blind Ron, looks like it sheds the wind and rain well.... how many windows are on that? And have you had a problem shooting thru mesh windows?
BD

Ron LaClair

It has 6 windows. I don't use the mesh on the windows, with the black interior I haven't found I need them even for deer. I tried a practice shot once just to see how it worked...I put a big hole through one of my turkey decoys.    :biglaugh:
