I aquired a couple partial rolls of kevlar that has been covered/infused with rubber.  It is very flexible and about the thickness of burlap.  Suppose to be extremely durable and 100% weatherproof.  I have some in 4 and 5 foot widths about 10 foot long....some I haven't unrolled yet.

First thing I thought was, "WOW...This would make a great bag target!"

Here is my question:  Do you think I should fill it with foam, paper, or plastic...OR...should I layer the kevlar in sheets with say maybe a few pieces of the same sized shag carpet between layers of kevlar?
Please chime in!!!!  I figure I have a good thing here, just want to utilize it in the best way.

Thanks!

Are you sure a field tip will go through it?

Havent tested it yet, but it is pretty thin.  Kevlar has to be layered to have total stopping power.  I'm sure it will penitrate, just feel that if layered with something soft it wouldn't take much....maybe 2 or three inches thick with something soft between 3 or 4 layers is all I would need????
Maybe just a couple cheap blankets sewn between 3 layers would work....

Or just stuff it with grocery store plastic bags. Visit any stores in your area and offer to take their packing materials(peanuts and such) off there hands for free. Pretty much only limited by the effort and time you want to put in it. Any old targets you have could probably be given a second life by being wrapped in it also.

Ditto on the plastic bags.  I save all of the plastic bags from the grocery store/walmart and stuff them into the plastic/burlap feed bags that used to hold hay cubes.  Makes a good target for field points.

I get shrinkwrap from a moving company. That stuff works great! Stuff it tight and it will last a long time.

Best I have ever found for a bag target is Quilt Batting. Pretty cheap at the big box stores. Leave mine out year around and never have a problem. Just change the bag from time to time. I've used mine for three years now and suspect it will be hanging by the shop long after Iam gone. Just a thought, Mike
