I made this one with all hickory limbs and had trouble with the water based glue causing 4" of set. I clamped the bow to the top of the form and put the heat to it till it turned dark. Left it over night to cool. Next day all but 3/4" of the set was gone and it's been holding steady since. I'm happy with the way the limbs turned out after the heat treatment. Seems to shoot pretty good. Have to make a longer string because the brace height too high but it will soon be ready to go. Got some touch up and detail work and then start adding the finish. Wasn't sure it I could make a 3-piece by cutting a 1-piece in half but looks like it's going to work.  Have to get 8 more built by June so better get busy.

Frank hadn't lost the bug just couldn't get them to stay together. This is an all wood bow for the kids and I've gotten 2 out of 5 to hold together. Was getting pretty frustrating. Still haven't gotten the courage to try building glass bows yet.

Looks good. Glass bows are less stress because they don't break too easily , unless it's the riser. The big set back is the cost of the fiberglass if your into production mode.

macbow I'd been building glass bows before I started these all wood ones for the gkids. Just had a bunch of trouble with the last 3 not holding together and like you say the cost with the glass is higher. Thanks for the encouragement, I'll try them again after I get these kid bows done.
