I'm wondering how everyone cuts their limb angles into the riser block. I use a table saw and make a wooden jig that runs the riser block through the blade at the proper angle. How do you do it?

I always have trouble getting the surface of the cut perpendicular with the side of the block even though I check the blade for angle.

Don't have any pics. I built one last week and had the same problem with my jig.I hadn't used it in a while and ran a test piece. Found  the back of the jig wasn't square with the blade.

What you have to be sure of is that the sides that lay on the saw table are paralell with each other and hold them flat down on the table while cutting. I run my riser blocks thru a thickness sander to get them paralell. Cant get on Photobucket right now. I use a Incra miter gauge that is marked in single degree marks. About a $100 but I do a lot of bows. You can use a sled but the base needs to be made of a material that will not warp or change with humidity etc. Here we go
