Man I'm lovin these teaser threads!!

Bernie, I know you and Rose will do more than your part for the auction, it's good folks like you that make it the huge success it is.

Really looking forward to the finished product Jeremy, Jeff, ....

Heading out in the AM for a couple weeks away from the Ranch with the wife and kids so you guys keep things hopping.  Doug

Quit it Shawn, yer makin' me blush!  :smileystooges:   How's life treating you buddy?

I just heard from my dad.  He says this knife is a "maybe" for the auction.  It's a nice copy of a classic Woodcraft blade.

He still has time to come up with something else, but I have to tell you guys, if he puts this one up you'll be bidding against ME!

Yup, dad has really stepped up his knifemaking abilities since he retired - and since I started making them!  :D

Yep, a pail will work, Calvin - LOL. About all I can ever do on knives is make an opening bid or something, and then get the hey out of the way - but with a pail full you might get to go  almost  all the way to the last bid   :D

OK, so I need a little input from you guys.  The pic below shows where the knife is right now and the original design sketch I did for this year's knife.  As you can tell, somthing is still missing.

I was planning on doing a silver wire inlay on the knife, but was wondering if I should leave it alone and just round things over and finish it up as is?  The walnut burl (thanks bbassi!) is going to finish up really well!

Whatcha think?  :)

I like the way you have planned on the drawing. That looks like a good idea. Wish I could do a knife like that. I am working on my first one now. Will learn to forge someday when I can find the brick to make a forge. Really nice knife, good the way it is, but I think that inlay will set it off nicely.

I think I found one to bid on no matter what you decide!  But if you are building it specifically for me, I would love the silver inlay.  ;)

I was looking at some at B'more this week end (oggling only) and those Burls sure do finish up beautifully - no doubt about it. I think it's going to be special either way - to whoever wins it. Since it's not a custom job it should be the Craftsman/Artist's choice - IMO

It will go too rich for my bidding blood, but if I had DEEP pockets, I would want the inlay!!!!!

Legolas would be proud to carry that one.  WOW!!!  WHAT A KNIFE!!!!

I like the silver, but will bid either way.  Very nice work.

Jeremy, Either way it's just plain AWESOME!  But the silver with add a little contrast to the handle and really "set it off"..

You continue to impress me with every knife.....

I guess it's time to go see if sliver inlays into walnut as easily as brass does into maple!  Thanks for the encouragement guys!  Just what I needed!

John, did I promise you some high temp bricks for a forge.  I had three people ask for 'em, and can't remember how many I sent out      Lots of stuff has been slipping the mind the last few months (7 to be exact)  9-1/2" weeks to Dday!  My wife really doesn't like it when I refer to her due date as "Dday"  :D

Send it to me first Jeremy, I'll let you know if it needs the inlay.......promise....

Awesome looking knife as is, anything else you do will "just" add to a beautiful knife.
