I have seen a broadhead that is made in Michigan by a machinist and I believe it is called Abowyers Point. It has a unique design and looks like you could shoot it through an engine block. It comes as heavy as 200gr. Have any of you used it?   :confused:

As I recall from reading the Ashby reports, they come HIGHLY recommended.  Dr. Ashby had some very impressive results with them so far.  Check
the archives here for that info.

Sure some others with actual results will chime in.  I know John Havard gave them the big thumbs up when I was asking about them last fall.  A bit pricey but they are probably worth every penny.

Also, Tom Hackbardt has a selection of them at his shop in Sand Lake, MI if you need to go shopping for them.

Thanks Jimmy, Tom's is actuallly where I saw them and at the time he thought Dr. Ashby was getting ready do test them. I like experimenting with new broadheads. The problem I seem to have is the tip curling cause I seem to be drawn to the shoulderblade! The Abowyers Point looks like it would never curl at the tip.

Larry Hanify makes these heads, and yes he is just north of Grand Rapids. They are a single bevel cutting edge with a tonto tip. And Mr Ashby does rate them very highly. He (Dr Ashby) does do a modified tonto on them, for even increased penitration. Put the WWW. and the .com to it and you will be there. They are on the pricey side, then again good things are!

Yep, I use them.  Last year I didn't get to stick a moose with them but a pesky ruffed grouse made the mistake of stepping off of a drumming log near me while I was chasing moose.  One arrow through the grouse and about 12" into the rocky ground put fresh grouse on the spit that evening.  The point looked like new and was still razor sharp after I managed to wriggle it free from all of the rocks.  VERY tough head that's easy to sharpen.  John

They will definitely be the next broadhead that I try out!
