Folks, here are a few photo's from my turkey hunt in Nebraska......

We had a great trip and there were a ton of birds, still in there winter flocks...... Here's one of the double bull set ups.





This view is from the blind.... can you see the two birds on the left of the photo?



My bird was approx. 20 pounds, 7 1/2 inch beard and 1 inch spurs...... I shot him with an Acadian Woods Recurve bow of 53 pounds, ash arrow and a Wensel Woodsman... getting a complete pass through at 16 yards.



We had lots of sun and temps in the 70's every day....... I shot this bird on the last day at 5 pm. in the afternoon at a cattle gate crossing where the birds crossed frequently.....

We have been hunting that farm in Nebraska for 3 years now... We booked the hunt through "Full Draw Outfitters, Fred Eichler".....

My next challenge is to score on a NY bird this May.....

I need to start traveling to some of these turkey states. I would really like to kill the "slam" someday....

What was the shot angle on the bird...from the front??  How far did he go?

Guru, he was very-slightly quartering to me....

 

This close up photo shows the entrance wound between the beard and the wing butt knuckle. As you can see in the photo.

The exit wound was just in front of the off side knuckle..almost broadside... I didn't hit any bones, thus the pass through....

The bird jumped up, walked 5 yards and I could see a lot of blood on his shoulder already.... He stood still for a second or two looking at the hen he was with.....not knowing what had happened. He then walked another 5 yards and tipped over.... He  only lived for about ten seconds after the artery hit.
