Steve Feidt (Guzzi2000 here on tradgang) sent me this pic of his first trad kill. I know it was in Wisconsin but not sure of all the details. Hopefully Steve will come on and fill us in.

Congrats Steve

Thanks for posting the pic for me Mickey. I originally posted telling Ferret that I thought of him after I shot the buck. Mickey had been hunting in Wisconsin a little south of me the week
before.
Well, I'm new to trad hunting, I had been shooting about a year when I got this one. Had a compound about 18 years ago and gave it away. Never shot anything with it. Bought a old Browning recurve for 20 bucks, then a viper longbow and then a Quinn. When the season started I was having my ups and downs shooting, like many beginners. By then I had been shooting the Quinn for the most part and becoming quite the discouraged.  Gave the longbow another try and found, I was shooting pretty well from 15 yards on in. I left the recurve home and took the longbow. To make a long story a little shorter the buck came in at about 13 yards and stopped behind a tree. When he stepped out I took the shot. I watched him for about 50 yards and he disappeared in the brush slashings. I heard a crash. Went back to camp called a buddy, who then drove about sixty miles to my camp. We looked for about an hour in the dark and then found him.
Not much of a story, but it was a cool experience for me.  Had a bigger one at 3 yards the following weekend. No buck tag so I let him walk.
Thanks to all the Trad Gangers for the knowledge you pass along to us novices.

Now thats awesome good job I cant wait for my first trad kill. Where did you hit the deer?

2Blade,

It was a little high and back, forgot about shooting out of a treestand and that he was moving. Ended up taking both lungs. Found him about 75 yards from my stand. Working on holding my anchor a little longer.

Good job. First deer with trad equipment and a great start. Go get some more so you can polish your story telling. lol

For hunting to have a future, we must invest ourselves in future hunters.

Thats good anyway least in a treestand a high angle isnt always a bad thing. Im going to try out of my stand one of these days I shot a few leaves from my stand and shot a little over them I figured that was typical. Good shooting I hope to get a deer at 13 yards for my first trad kill again congrats that is a trophy buck IMO.

vermonster13,

You are correct sir, my story telling skills suck. However, I will try and shoot more deer.

MikeC,

Would I be breaking any rules on Trad Gang if I said yes?

I would have to say yes.  I sent you a PM.

My brother had an 850 Eldorado when we both worked for a dealership that carried MG. I'd love to add an 100 Breva or Norge to my collection, however there are no Guzzi dealers within 100's of miles me now.

What do you have Mike C?

Don't want to get in trouble but.  I have a lime green 2000 V11 and a black/red 2002 California Special Sport.  Both just touched enough to increase the HP a bit and the looks.

Would love to own a 74 eldo one day.
