Nice shooting, my son and i went stump shooting today and we had one gobbling back to our owl hooting. We saw lots of sign another 5 weeks for ours to open.

Nice shooting Roger! I just got this wingbone turkey call that Monty Browning made from a big tom that he shot. I am gonna try and use it to call in a bird for me and the wife this spring!

hey roger, out looking for sheds yesterday here in hillsdale county and the turkeys were fire up!!!  Had up to 4 at a time gobbling, now if they would just cooperate in a few weeks......  saw toms in full strut always cool to see.. good hunting,  ron

John Havard

Wow Roger.  Want to hang out in my ground blind and do the shooting?  Very nice group!  Good luck this year.

Roger Norris

Thanks John. Good luck to you also. I know darn well you turn out better groups than that every day!   :bigsmyl:

This turkey season has got me a little intimidated. I'm a good, experienced shooter. I have been bowhunting for 32 years.  But the realization of the tiny kill zone on a turkey has got me concerned. I have been shooting everyday, many, many arrows.

Last night I shot for a couple of hours at pretty long range...40 and 50 yards. I love long range shooting and how it helps my form. I brought my turkey target along just for kicks.

So here is my big realization...I am confident on deer sized game out to 30 yards, have been for quite awhile. But when it comes to the baseball sized K-zone of a turkey, I will be a 15 yard shooter. And thats just fine with me. I HATE lost game.

Roger, If you're using your   Northwoods Blind     http://www.shrewbows.com/nothwoods_blinds.htm    with decoys set in front, it's possible to get those birds within 10yds or less,     :scared:

At that range just point that   Lil' Favorite  in the general direction and the built in homing device will do the rest.      :goldtooth:

I have been practicing out of my blind...the Lil' Favorite is tailor made for it.

I went out at lunch to look for a couple sheds and pull a treestand I forgot about. I took my bow along and shot a few from the treestand. Perfect. If I were hunting oak leaves I would have a full bag.

You are right Ron...this bow at 10 yards is a no brainer!
