Now, I know most people will recommend one of the fine bowyers listed here or that are advertised in magazines like Traditional Bowhunting, but yours truly is on a fixed income. I was looking at 3Rivers and noticed the Outlander Longbow by Greatree Archery. At 1/3 to 1/4 the price of other bows, this one meets my needs, but I'd like a little feedback from the folks here about it. Thanks a lot.

I believe they are made by Ragim, the same folks who make a lot of the PSE Traditional bows. If you get a good one, they can be real decent. If you don't, well you can find lots of stories about that. You may be better served recycling a used bow from the classifieds.

I'd look at a used bow on the classifieds first, I think you will be much happier with how much your money buys you.

If you must have something new, but relatively inexpensive, I would recommend the Quinn line of recurves, superb shooting bow for the money.

Been looking in the ads for some time, about everything I've seen is either too heavy a draw or too expensive. I have a Quinn Comet recurve that I'm real happy with, would like a good longbow for barebow/wood use. Guess i'll keep looking, thanks guys.

Alkahunt has a Bear Montana in the Ads right now. He's a reasonable fellow to deal with.

Maybe an idea of what you're looking for?

Well, since I have an old wrist injury that doesn't allow me to pull more than 50#, was looking for something around 40-45#, not particular about length. Just something to stump-shoot and mess around with.

Lynn's Montana is 45# and is priced right.

I'll second the classifieds... or third.  ;)

One of my favorite bows,  I found used for half price and it was pretty much like new.
