Well Gang,

I had hoped on getting this project done earlier for Toby, but I just kept running into stumbling blocks and other projects. The auction was for a box call but Toby was so understanding and patient I decided to show my appreciation and go a little further.

The first box has a cherry lid with osage inlays and a copperhead over lay, the sides are poplar with walnut end blocks and a cherry base. This call is raspy and has a great tone.

The second box has a cherry lid with a carved and burned Morel, it also has poplar sides with walnut block and base. This call is high pitched clear and LOUD! It should be the ticket on windy days and act as a great locator call.

I had a little copperhead skin left over and decided to incorporate it into a wingbone yelper.

Special thanks to Tradgang for sponsoring this wonderful auction for such a deserving cause and thanks again to Toby and his patience.

Oh Man!!!! I really don't know what to say! Thank you very much. When I bid I thought I was bidding for one call...You have a very generous heart.
Seriously, Sean, I've got tears in my eyes right now!
Those are very beautiful and so much more than I expected. I'll put them to good use this spring. I have one flock of birds I've been keeping an eye on: They're on my friend's property South of Lake Sonoma hanging out next to a vineyard. Steep hills and high winds to try out the Morel box on. I'm hoping to get a nice tom or a legal Jake in range so I can get a shot with my Morrison.
Gang...Lessons learned in the journey of life never cease. Sean and I have been communicating over emails and, life being what it is, I fully understand the demands we all have on our time. We have a great group of folks here and we support a great cause with St. Jude's. This re-enforces one of my beliefs: Show a person patience and understanding and treat them with respect just as you wish to be treated.
Sean, I'll never forget you and those calls won't be boxed up and put away when not in use. I'll have a spot for them on display so all my friends, relatives, and neighbors can see them and show appreciation for your craftmanship and generosity. If you ever make out to the Wine Country of California, or wish to come hunt our turkeys, give me a call and I'll hook you up.
Again, thank you very much.

Thanks for all the kind words, I really enjoyed this project and donating to the auction.

Osagetree, I think the box call you posted on here a couple of years ago was the first one I had ever seen with a snakeskin on it. So thank you sharing your creativity with us.

Toby, I wish you all the luck with the call. Now about the invite to Cali, Hmmmm turkey and wine that sounds like they may just go together we will have to see what we can work out in the future.

I already have some ideas going so keep a look out for this years St. Jude's auction.

Those are nice calls if they sound half as good as they look i would use them.
